My Bad Experience in Chemmannur Jewlers

 Dear Readers,

This is my life time ever bad experience I had to face in Chemmannur jewelers. I am sharing this blog with all you readers, making you understand these guys are pure cheaters. Before I go to the details of the incident, requested you to check the gold rates in different jewelry shops in Bangalore as on date. For your perusal and easy reference, I am attaching the screen shots of JOSCO Jewelers, Malabar Jewelers, Bhima Jewelers and Chemmannur Jewelers. You can compare the rate difference and will be shocked seeing the high gold rate in Chemmanur.

I was in need of money very urgently. I have arranged maximum of the amount I was needed, but was short of some Rs. 50000/-. I did not have any other option than selling my gold chain which was purchased from Chemmannur Jewelers, a year back. I approached JOSCO jewelers to sell the same, but they informed that “no jeweler buys gold ornaments which has purchased from a different jewel shop, but can be exchanged. JOSCO jewels can be sold in JOSCO with Rs. 25/- less per gram from the current gold rate. (Eg:- current gold rate per gram is Rs. 3000/-, but they buy from us for Rs. 2975/ gram).

For more clarification I have referred “Malayala Manorama” news paper and found in “Today’s Market rate” column that, the old gold rate is just Rs. 25/gram less than the current gold rate. Being a happiest person, I went to chemmannur and said to the Manger that I came for gold selling. I was shocked to hear his reply that, we don’t buy back gold even though you have purchased from us. I tried arguing with him but could succeed. But he said; “if you want you can pledge the gold with us for Rs. 1800/- per gram but the interest rate high. I lost my control, and started shouting at him badly and tried closing the shop. Eventually, he called someone on phone and came back to me saying that, we will buy back the gold with one condition. We will deduct Rs. 30/ gram and 3% from the total weight of gold. I tried arguing with him referring the news paper and JOSCO statement, but he was stubborn in his statement.

I did not have any choice other than selling the gold to them with huge pain in my heart. He gave me a Cheque of Rs. 59669/-. But I decided, never ever buy gold from Chemmannur jewelers and thought to share my agonies with all of you. It may help you to avoid further inconvenience with these kinds of cheaters.

Kindly think 100 times before you enter CHEMMANNUR JEWELERS.

Dinesh.S
